Due to open in April 2016, Royal Caribbean International is building a $33 million dollar cruise terminal which the Taiwanese government hopes to use to attract up to 500,000 passengers annually. To be constructed in Magong City the terminal is being designed to accommodate ships as large as the Oasis of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean joined a number of Caribbean nations and travel organizations to aid in forming the Sustainable Destinations Alliance for the Americas. Joining Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Honduras, Jamaica and Nicaragua, as well a group of governmental commissions and agencies the alliance will see to drive sustainability across operations of the travel industry.
